The DieselSite HPRA is a filter adapter for the HPOP reservoir on a 1996–2003 7.3 Powerstroke. It bolts under the reservoir and adds a screen the early cover never had.
Ford put a screen in the reservoir gasket at mid-1999. That gasket will not go on an earlier cover. It can crack it. This adapter is the screen for a 1996 to mid-1999 engine, and it adds capacity on a later one. The low-pressure pump fills the reservoir with unfiltered oil until the engine has oil pressure, so a little pan debris reaches the HPOP on every start. The screen catches it. It also has ports for a second HPOP supply, a second IPR return, and a relief return, so a dual-pump or twin-turbo setup does not need a hole drilled in the reservoir. Gaskets and hardware are included. The fuel-filter housing still bolts on. The lines need a small move.
It fits 1996–2003 trucks. A 1994–1995 reservoir uses the HPRA95.
Fitment
- 1996–2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke
- Reservoir filter adapter
- Adds a screen on 1996 to mid-1999
- Ports for a second HPOP
- Gaskets and hardware included
- Does not fit 1994–1995
It does not fix a weak pump. It keeps debris out of the one you have.
