7.3 Powerstroke Stage 2 Beehive Valve Springs — Comp Cams COMVS-ST2

Comp Cams Stage 2 beehive valve spring kit for 1994–2003 7.3L Powerstroke engines. Higher seat pressure than stock, Comp 910, or Stage 1 springs to keep the valves seated under bigger injectors, higher boost, and higher cylinder pressure. Kit includes Stage 2 beehive springs, steel retainers, and super valve locks.

Stock and mild 910-style springs were not built for hybrid injectors, 275cc+ fueling, or high-boost 7.3 builds. When cylinder pressure climbs, the valves can lift off the seat, causing lost power, a miss, and valvetrain damage. Comp Cams Stage 2 beehive springs add the seat pressure and control those builds need. The tapered beehive design spreads stress more evenly, cuts valvetrain mass, and helps damp harmonics compared with a conventional cylindrical spring.

Stage 2 Pushrods are required when running Beehive valve springs. Also recommended with ARP head studs on any high-pressure 7.3 build.

    • Comp Cams Stage 2 beehive valve springs
    • Steel retainers included
    • Super valve locks included
    • Higher seat pressure than stock, Comp 910, or Stage 1 springs
    • Beehive design for better stress distribution and high-RPM stability
    • Helps prevent valve lift under high boost and large injectors
    • Recommended for 275cc and higher performance injectors
    • Built for high-boost, high-horsepower, and competition 7.3 applications
    • Required with Smith Brothers Stage 2 pushrods
    • Best used with ARP head studs

A 7.3-specific valve spring compressor tool is strongly recommended. Follow the factory service procedure for rocker removal, spring replacement, and valve adjustment. Check installed height and coil-bind clearance before final assembly. Replace tired stock springs before adding large injectors, high boost, or Stage 2 pushrods.

1 Question asked on 7.3 Powerstroke Stage 2 Beehive Valve Springs Comp Cams comvs-st2

Q Gunter Hedges • 08/05/2026, 5:55:49 PM Does this kit not requires shims to be installed for the correct seat pressure? i didn't see the shims as an add on option like in the stage 1 kit.
A 08/05/2026, 6:05:01 PM Dear Connie, these don't require shims because they are at a much higher seat pressure. The shims stiffen the stage 1 to a higher pressure. These have enough pressure to not need shims.

These work as intended, I needed a step high seat pressure to comp 910s as I'm running a 467.7 with 275/200s these should keep the valves shut when they need to be.
