South Bend 13125-OFEK Dyna Max 13" Upgrade Clutch Kit for 5.9 Cummins
Upgrade your 1989–2005 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins with the South Bend Dyna Max 13-Inch Upgrade Clutch Kit (13125-OFEK). This complete single-disc conversion kit solves the common premature disc failure issues found in the factory 12-1/4" clutches when trucks are modified for more power or used for serious towing and work.
South Bend took their proven 13" ETH clutch platform and modified it to fit the stock 1-1/4" input shaft used in Getrag, NV4500, and early non-HO NV5600 transmissions. The larger diameter and significantly stronger disc center (2–3× the strength of stock) provide much better torque absorption, heat dissipation, and overall durability.
Key Features & Benefits
- Hybrid OFE Disc — Organic lining on one side for smooth, street-friendly engagement + Feramic lining on the other for strong holding power under load. Marcelled fin design.
- Modified Pressure Plate — Higher clamp load for increased torque capacity while maintaining smooth pedal feel and drivability.
- 13" Diameter Upgrade — Converts from the weaker stock 12.25" clutch to a larger, stronger assembly with more friction surface area.
- Complete Kit with Flywheel — Includes re-drilled and resurfaced flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc, pilot bearing, release/throwout bearing, alignment tool, and hardware.
- Rated Capacity — Handles up to 475 HP and 1,000 ft-lbs of torque.
- Towing Performance — Excellent for trucks regularly towing up to ~25,000 lbs (application dependent).
Ideal For
- Daily-driven performance or tuned 5.9 Cummins trucks
- Heavy towing and work applications
- Drivers who want strong holding power without the harsh engagement of full-ceramic clutches
Vehicle Fitment
- 1989–1993 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins with Getrag G360 5-speed
- 1994–2004 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins with NV4500 5-speed
- 1999–2000.5 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins with NV5600 6-speed (non-HO engines only)
Note: This kit is for trucks with the stock 1-1/4" input shaft. Not for High Output NV5600 applications. For 2001–2003 models, confirm your exact transmission configuration. Many owners also upgrade the hydraulic master/slave cylinder assembly at the same time for best long-term results.
This is the go-to street/tow upgrade for 5.9 Cummins owners who want reliability and performance without sacrificing drivability.
