The Superchips Flashpaq F5 4845 is the California edition of the F5 programmer. It is the CARB-legal version, with an executive order, so it can be sold and used on emissions-controlled vehicles in all 50 states. The power files are milder than the 1845.
It plugs into the OBD-II port, loads a Superchips calibration, and backs up the stock file so you can return the PCM to factory. On a stock Powerstroke the top file is about 65 hp and 115 lb-ft on a 1999–2003 7.3, 65 hp and 115 lb-ft on a 2003–2007 6.0, and 88 hp and 134 lb-ft on a 2008–2010 6.4. It also covers 2001–2016 Duramax and 2003–2012 5.9 and 6.7 Cummins, plus the gas trucks on the Superchips list. The 2.8-inch color screen reads and clears codes. Shift points, shift firmness, and the speed limiter are adjustable where the PCM allows it. Updates run over USB. Superchips backs it with a 2-year limited powertrain warranty.
It does not delete emissions equipment. A 2011–2019 6.7 Powerstroke is not on this California file. That truck needs the 1845, which is not 50-state legal.
Fitment
- 1999–2003 7.3L Powerstroke, up to 65 hp
- 2003–2007 6.0L Powerstroke, up to 65 hp
- 2008–2010 6.4L Powerstroke, up to 88 hp
- 2001–2016 GM 6.6L Duramax
- 2003–2012 Ram 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins
- CARB EO on file for the listed applications
- OBD-II flash programmer
- Does not cover 2011–2019 6.7L Powerstroke
Gains are on a stock emissions truck. The legal file is the point of this part number, not the bigger tune in the 1845
