2005-2009 5.9L / 6.7L Cummins Fuel Sending Unit For Aftermarket Lift Pumps S&B 86-3000

Thumbnail Filmstrip of 2005-2009 5.9L / 6.7L Cummins Fuel Sending Unit For Aftermarket Lift Pumps S&B 86-3000 Images

The S&B 86-3000 fuel sending unit fits 2005-2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 pickups with the 5.9L Cummins and 2007-2009 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 pickups with the 6.7L Cummins. An aftermarket lift pump moves more fuel than the factory setup, but on these trucks it commonly starts pulling air once the tank drops to about a quarter. That air means pump cavitation, falling fuel pressure and a truck you can't run low on fuel.

The S&B sending unit replaces the factory unit so the aftermarket pump can keep drawing fuel all the way down, letting you drive to empty. It is completely plug and play, with no modification to the OEM tank or sending unit. It is built for use with aftermarket lift pumps only. No core required.

    Key Features & Benefits

    • Drive to Empty: Keeps fuel at the pickup so an aftermarket lift pump can run the tank down without quarter-tank air issues.
    • Plug and Play: Installs in place of the factory sending unit with no tank modification.
    • Built for Aftermarket Pumps: Designed specifically to feed frame-mounted aftermarket lift pumps.
    • Two Engine Platforms: One part covers 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins pickups from 2005 through 2009.

    Technical Specifications

    • Manufacturer: S&B Filters
    • Part Number / SKU: 86-3000
    • Product Type: Fuel Sending Unit (for aftermarket lift pumps)
    • Truck Compatibility: 2005-2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 5.9L; 2007-2009 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 6.7L
    • Engine Platform: 5.9L / 6.7L Cummins
    • Core Requirement: No core required

Vehicle Fitment & Technical Installation Notes

Fits 2005-2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 5.9L Cummins and 2007-2009 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 6.7L Cummins pickups. For use with aftermarket lift pumps only.

Installation Tip: Run the tank as low as practical, disconnect the batteries and relieve fuel pressure before dropping the tank or removing the sender. Keep the tank opening covered so no debris falls in, seat the new seal evenly, and confirm the fuel gauge reads correctly and the connections are dry before the first drive.
