The MBRP S62340P (Armor Lite / Performance Series) is a massive 5-inch turbo-back single-exit exhaust system engineered for 2003–2007 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine. Fabricated from heavy-gauge aluminized steel with smooth mandrel-bent 5-inch tubing, this system delivers maximum exhaust volume and thermal evacuation while retaining the factory catalytic converter. MBRP equips this kit with a 3.5-inch two-piece turbo downpipe that quickly steps up to continuous 5-inch diameter piping, a high-flow chambered performance muffler to manage drone, an over-axle tailpipe, and OE-style welded hangers that slip directly into factory chassis rubber mounts.
High exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) while towing heavy loads, severe turbo backpressure caused by factory neck-downs, choked top-end power output, sluggish boost spool, and muffled exhaust sound are what this 5-inch system eliminates. On modified or heavily loaded 6.0L Powerstroke trucks, 4-inch exhaust systems can still encounter flow resistance at elevated boost levels; stepping up to continuous 5-inch mandrel-bent piping maximizes gas expansion behind the turbo. This drops peak EGTs by up to 150–250°F, relieves backpressure against the variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), and delivers an ultra-deep, authoritative diesel tone while keeping in-cab drone contained with the chambered muffler. It is a complete 5-inch turbo-back exhaust kit including the downpipe, catalytic converter adapter pipes, 5-inch intermediate tubing, performance muffler, over-axle pipe, tailpipe, and heavy-duty clamps; exhaust tips and catalytic converter delete pipes are sold separately.
It fits 2003–2007 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickup trucks equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine across SuperCab (Extended Cab) and Crew Cab configurations with 6'9" Short Beds or 8' Long Beds that retain the factory catalytic converter (does not fit Regular Cab models, Cab & Chassis configurations, or Ford Excursions).
Fitment
- 2003–2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke (SuperCab & Crew Cab; Short & Long Bed)
- 2003–2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke (SuperCab & Crew Cab; Short & Long Bed)
- Fits Single Rear Wheel (SRW) and Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) pickup configurations
- Complete 5-inch turbo-back replacement exhaust system (retains factory catalytic converter)
- Includes mandrel-bent 3.5" to 5" two-piece downpipe for clearance and rapid gas expansion
- Constructed from heavy-gauge 16-gauge aluminized steel tubing (Armor Lite / Performance Series)
- High-flow chambered performance muffler lowers EGTs while controlling in-cab cab resonance
- Single passenger-side exit behind the rear tire (no tip included; bare 5" tailpipe exit)
- OE-style welded hangers mount directly into factory rubber chassis isolators
- Complete 5-inch exhaust system kit including heavy-duty clamps and installation hardware
Support the vehicle safely on a lift or heavy-duty jack stands and disconnect both negative battery cables. Spray penetrating lubricant onto all factory rubber hanger isolators, the catalytic converter flange bolts, and the turbo downpipe V-band clamp behind the turbo turbine housing. Cut the factory downpipe using a reciprocating saw to facilitate removal from under the chassis, then loosen the factory V-band clamp to extract the upper downpipe section from the engine bay. Unbolt the catalytic converter from the factory exhaust, unhook the rubber hangers, and lower the original intermediate pipe, muffler, and tailpipe assembly out from under the truck. Install the upper section of the MBRP two-piece downpipe onto the turbo turbine discharge flange, loosely securing the factory V-band clamp before joining the lower downpipe section. Reinstall the factory catalytic converter to the MBRP downpipe adapter, attach the 5-inch intermediate extension pipe (trimmed to length according to cab and bed size per instructions), and slide the 5-inch chambered performance muffler into place. Guide the massive 5-inch over-axle and tailpipe sections over the rear axle housing, inserting the welded hangers directly into the OEM rubber mounts. Adjust all pipe joints to ensure a minimum of 1 to 1.5 inches of clearance around brake lines, rear shock absorbers, fuel tank shielding, and the spare tire, then torque all heavy-duty band clamps from the turbo downpipe back to 35–40 ft-lbs.
