On 2020+ Super Duty models, the factory thermal bypass valve assembly restricts coolant flow to the oil-to-water transmission cooler. The OEM solenoid stays closed (or only partially opens) until transmission fluid reaches approximately 210°F, and even when open the restricted passages limit cooler efficiency.
