What's better than the original wicked wheel at stopping turbo surge? The second generation wicked wheel has been updated to feature better blade geometry with optimal blade pitch and a new billet light weight design. The lighter weight offers a better response and fast spool up times. This new wheel also has improve blade geometry which flow more air through the compressor map. Installation is straight forward just replace the factory wheel with this upgrade. Please note the reverse thread (Left tightens). This wheel vs stock is more flow, more top end boost, and faster spool up from the light weight design.

    Stops Compressor Surge:
Compressor surge is a turbo killer. You'll notice surge with most modified 7.3 trucks and mostly when towing. Surge is the condition when air is drawn into the wheel and stalls the when forcing air back into the inlet. Similar to cavitation with the propeller of a boat in water when it's try to suck water and free spins.

Simply installing the wicked wheel 2 gives you:
    • More boost
    • Faster turbo spool up
    • Great turbo sound
    • Eliminate compressor surge
    • Fits the stock GTP38 and TP38 turbos without any modifications
    • Lower smoke and EGT's

Special Note: This turbo has a standard right hand thread - meaning you turn the compressor wheel to the left to loosen. No need to torque the Wicked Wheel on. Simply snug the Wicked Wheel until it fully seats. It will self-tighten to full torque. The Wicked Wheel is balanced at the factory. Turbo balancing after installation is not necessary.

Performed a complete rebuild of my 99 7.3L turbo and replaced the 26-year old turbo wheel with the Wicked Wheel 2. Spool time was greatly reduced and a noticeable wake-up in terms of overall power has been experienced. Full Force delivered as promised.

The wheel is ok, makes a good sound and all that but without doing the back wheel too it doesnt balance out well so truck didnt have much of a difference. Didnt notice any difference in boost really. I plan to buy a new turbo soon though. FFD definitely has quality products this just didnt what I was thinking it would.

My 2001 7.3 drw 4x4 had over 225 thousand miles on it. I've done multiple upgrades on my motor but was hesitant on the changing out the turbo. Man was I stupid. I should have done this a long time ago. Removing the turbo was a pain, but the end results were awesome. Also not I changed the turbo ped to a non epvd new stage 1 injectors, new glow plugs, new harness, new valve cover gasket and a hydr chip. My truck feels brand new again, I love it.

I replaced the stock turbo wheel on my 2000 7.3 with the wicked wheel 2. I am very impressed with extra HP when I step on it. It performs just as advertised. If I every buy another 7.3, I would definitely replace the stock wheel with the wicked wheel 2.
