The DieselSite WW38 is the Wicked Wheel 2 compressor wheel for a stock 7.3 turbo. It fits a TP38 and a GTP38 from 1994 to 2003. It is not the wheel for a GTP38R. That turbo uses the WW38R.
The stock cast wheel is what surges on these trucks, the bark on lift-throttle. This billet wheel is DieselSite’s fix for that, and it spools harder than the cast wheel it replaces. It is factory balanced, so the turbo does not need a rebalance. The thread is standard right-hand. Turn it left to loosen, snug it until it seats, and it tightens itself. Do not use an impact. Mark the compressor cover before it comes off.
DieselSite says keep the wastegate on a 1999–2003 truck and stay under about 32 psi if you want the stock turbo to live. The turbine wheel and the housings stay.
Replace the compressor-housing O-ring while the cover is off. A new wheel on a flat ring will still leak boost.

Performed a complete rebuild of my 99 7.3L turbo and replaced the 26-year old turbo wheel with the Wicked Wheel 2. Spool time was greatly reduced and a noticeable wake-up in terms of overall power has been experienced. Full Force delivered as promised.

My 2001 7.3 drw 4x4 had over 225 thousand miles on it. I've done multiple upgrades on my motor but was hesitant on the changing out the turbo. Man was I stupid. I should have done this a long time ago. Removing the turbo was a pain, but the end results were awesome. Also not I changed the turbo ped to a non epvd new stage 1 injectors, new glow plugs, new harness, new valve cover gasket and a hydr chip. My truck feels brand new again, I love it.

I replaced the stock turbo wheel on my 2000 7.3 with the wicked wheel 2. I am very impressed with extra HP when I step on it. It performs just as advertised. If I every buy another 7.3, I would definitely replace the stock wheel with the wicked wheel 2.
