The Alliant Power AP63478 is a new mechanical fuel transfer pump for the 1989-1993 5.9L 12-valve Cummins B-series. It bolts to the engine block and supplies the VE injection pump, just like the original pump.
It is a direct replacement for several Cummins numbers, including 3901425, 3904374, 3928143, 3966154, 3970880 and 4983584. It is a good choice when you want to keep the factory mechanical setup.
