The BD AutoLoc is designed to enhance the performance and safety of your automatic transmission when using an exhaust brake. Typically, torque converter slippage can cause high transmission temperatures, with only 10% to 80% of the retarding force being transferred. The BD AutoLoc commands the lock-up clutch to stay engaged when the BD Exhaust Brake is activated, enabling up to 100% of the retarding force to be transferred in 3rd and 4th gears. This prevents slippage, maintains lower transmission oil temperatures, and ensures optimal braking efficiency and vehicle control.
