The DieselSite BRV is a boost relief valve for a 1994–2003 7.3 and a 2003–2007 6.0 Powerstroke. It installs in the hose to the MAP sensor and keeps an overboost code from pulling fuel.

On these trucks the SES light for overboost comes on around 25 psi. The PCM then cuts fuel to pull boost back down. That is common on a chipped truck. The BRV vents the extra pressure the sensor sees, so the light stays off and the engine still gets the boost. The arrow points toward the MAP sensor. The line is on the passenger side, over the intercooler tube behind the oil fill. Gauge ports are plugged. Pull a plug to read actual boost and what the MAP sees.

It is a CNC valve with a fixed orifice. It is not a wastegate and it does not raise the boost limit in the tune. It only changes what the sensor reports.
