The DTC 48vfcm is a heavy-duty, professionally remanufactured 48-volt Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) assembly engineered for 2003–2007 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks as well as 2003–2005 Ford Excursions equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine. Built to eliminate the notorious electrical weaknesses of the factory Ford/Navistar power supply board, this unit maintains a rock-solid, factory-specified 48-volt output under all engine loads and ambient temperatures. Every unit is completely remanufactured with upgraded, high-temperature military-spec capacitors, high-amperage MOSFET power transistors, reinforced circuit board traces, and vibration-resistant solder joints specifically engineered to withstand harsh diesel engine bay vibrations and severe thermal cycling.
Cold-morning extended crank times, complete no-starts, rough erratic idling until the engine warms up, injector misfires, white exhaust smoke on startup, and low-voltage diagnostic trouble codes (such as P0611, P0261–P0284) caused by voltage dropping below the critical 45-volt operating threshold are what this heavy-duty unit eliminates. Factory 6.0L FICM boards rely on undersized surface-mount capacitors and lead-free solder that crack from engine vibration and heat rising off the driver-side valve cover. The DTC 48vfcm provides stable, continuous 48-volt power directly to the HEUI fuel injector spool valve solenoids, ensuring crisp injector activation, smooth cylinder contribution, and long-term electrical reliability. It is a complete, pre-assembled, plug-and-play FICM unit (including upgraded power board, tested logic board, and sealed aluminum housing) backed by a 3-year warranty; custom FICM software tunes and replacement rubber vibration mounting grommets are sold separately.
It fits all 2003–2007 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks and 2003–2005 Ford Excursions equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine across all cab and bed configurations (also compatible with 2004–2010 Ford E-Series vans equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke).

Park the truck on a solid, level surface, make sure the ignition key is off, and disconnect both negative battery cables. Remove the mounting bolts securing the coolant degas reservoir and carefully position it aside to gain clear access to the driver-side valve cover where the FICM is mounted. Depress the release tabs on the three underside wiring harness plugs and pull each connector straight down to disconnect them from the FICM sockets (take care not to crack brittle factory wire harness tabs). Remove the four mounting nuts holding the FICM bracket to the valve cover studs, ensuring the rubber vibration isolation grommets remain intact, and lift the assembly out of the truck. Inspect the rubber isolators on the mounting bracket to make sure they are soft and free of oil swelling, set the new DTC 48vfcm into place, and torque the four retaining nuts to 6–8 ft-lbs. Firmly seat the three main wiring harness connectors into the bottom of the module until each locking clip clicks into positive engagement. Reinstall the coolant degas bottle, secure its mounting hardware, reconnect both negative battery cables, and turn the ignition key to the "ON" position for 30 seconds to allow the fuel injectors to run their pre-cycle buzz test before starting the engine.
