The Edge Insight CS2 (part number 84030) is a compact, multi-parameter digital gauge monitor and diagnostic scan tool engineered for 1996 and newer OBD-II equipped gas and diesel vehicles. Built around a slim-case design with a 2.4-inch high-resolution full-color screen and tactile side-button controls, the CS2 delivers live powertrain telemetry without altering factory ECM calibrations or emissions equipment. Edge equips this monitor with custom screen layouts, user-configurable audible and visual threshold alerts, built-in data logging with PC playback via MyStyle software, performance drag-strip testing (0–60 mph and 1/4-mile ETs), full DTC read/clear capabilities, and support for Edge's Expandable Accessory System (EAS) to daisy-chain optional external sensors like EGT pyrometer probes and pressure transducers.
Unmonitored exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) roasting turbochargers, creeping transmission and oil temps under heavy towing, clogged DPF traps regenerating unnoticed, and drilling through vehicle firewalls for individual analog gauges are what this digital monitor eliminates. Rather than running multiple mechanical fluid lines and wiring separate pillar gauges, the Insight CS2 streams factory sensor parameters—such as engine oil temperature (EOT), engine coolant temperature (ECT), high-pressure oil ICP/duty cycle, boost, transmission fluid temperature (TFT), and fuel rail pressure—directly through the vehicle’s diagnostic OBD-II port. It is a standalone digital gauge display, performance testing meter, and diagnostic scan tool only; it does not tune, flash calibrations, or add horsepower to the vehicle's engine computer.
It fits all 1996 and newer OBD-II compliant diesel and gasoline trucks, SUVs, and cars, featuring dedicated manufacturer PID profiles across Ford Powerstroke, GM Duramax, and Dodge/RAM Cummins platforms.
Fitment
- 1999–2003 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke
- 2003–2007 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke
- 2008–2010 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty 6.4L Powerstroke
- 2011–2019+ Ford F-250 / F-350 / F-450 Super Duty 6.7L Powerstroke
- 2001–2019+ Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD 6.6L Duramax (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML, L5P)
- 1998.5–2019+ Dodge / RAM 2500 / 3500 5.9L & 6.7L Cummins
- Universal fitment for all 1996 and newer OBD-II compliant gas and diesel vehicles
- 2.4-inch high-resolution full-color display with tactile button controls
- Slim-case profile with light sensitivity sensor for automatic nighttime screen dimming
- Reads and clears standard SAE and OEM diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) with full-text descriptions
- Customizable gauge layouts, needle colors, background themes, and user-defined audible/visual safety alerts
- High-speed data logging (stores up to 10 unique logs) and performance testing (0–60 mph, 1/4-mile)
- Compatible with optional Edge EAS modular accessories (EGT thermocouples, fluid pressure/temp sensors)
- Digital monitor, OBD-II cable, and windshield suction mount kit only (does not include tuning or horsepower programming)
Before mounting inside the cab, connect the CS2 monitor to a Windows computer using the included USB cable and run Edge’s Fusion update software to ensure the device has the latest firmware, vehicle definitions, and PID database installed. Thoroughly clean the windshield glass with isopropyl alcohol before adhering the suction cup mount to maintain a strong hold during extreme interior temperature changes. Route the HDMI-style OBD-II cable behind the lower dash panels and kick panels, securing the harness away from the steering column, pedal linkages, and parking brake mechanism. If monitoring pre-turbo exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) on older platforms or trucks without a factory exhaust temp sensor (such as the 7.3L or 6.0L Powerstroke), install an optional Edge EAS EGT starter kit and tap the thermocouple probe directly into the driver-side exhaust manifold upstream of the turbocharger up-pipe.
