FASS DRP02 Direct Replacement Fuel Pump
    1998.5–2002 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 5.9L 24-valve Cummins

Bolt-in lift pump that replaces the weak factory unit, feeds the VP44 more consistently, and installs in the stock location in about 30 minutes.

The factory lift pump on 1998.5–2002 5.9L Cummins trucks is one of the most common failure points on these engines. When it weakens or dies, fuel pressure drops. Throttle response fades, mileage suffers, cold starts get harder—and the VP44 injection pump can be starved of the fuel it needs for both delivery and cooling. That is an expensive follow-on failure.

The FASS DRP02 (also listed as DDRP-02) is a purpose-built direct replacement for that block-mounted pump. It bolts into the factory location, plugs into the factory wiring harness, and uses a larger, higher-torque motor than the OEM Carter-style unit. Flow is typically cited at about 33% more than stock, with output around 95–110 GPH at 16–18 PSI—enough for stock and mildly used trucks without the cost of a full frame-mounted FASS system.

The stock pump sits on a hot engine and has to pull fuel a long way from the tank. That combination overheats weak motors and drops pressure under load. The DRP02’s stronger motor holds more consistent supply pressure so the VP44 can do its job. It is the straightforward fix: FASS reliability in the factory spot, without re-plumbing the whole truck.

    Key features

    • Direct factory replacement that mounts in the stock block location
    • Larger, more powerful motor than the OEM lift pump
    • About 33% more flow than stock (approx. 95–110 GPH)
    • Preset 16–18 PSI
    • Factory wiring connector—no custom harness required
    • Typical install time of 30–60 minutes
    • All hardware included, plus rubber line and fittings to replace the stock steel line from pump to filter housing
    • Compatible with the FASS RK-02 relocation kit (sold separately)
    • 4-year warranty when purchased from an authorized FASS dealer and registered
    • High-torque design for more reliable cold-weather starts

    Fitment
    Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500, 1998.5–2002, 5.9L Cummins 24-valve with VP44 injection pump.
Part number: DRP02. Also known as FASS DDRP-02 / Dodge Direct Replacement Pump.

    What’s in the box
FASS DRP02 pump, mounting hardware, banjo fittings and mesh screen, plus rubber fuel line and fittings to replace the stock steel line to the filter housing. A fuel pressure gauge is strongly recommended after install so you can confirm supply pressure and catch a clogged filter before it costs you a VP44.

    Important notes
Intended for stock horsepower applications. Heavily modified trucks should step up to a full FASS system or a higher-capacity pump. Not for waste vegetable oil or biodiesel blends. If the truck already has an aftermarket in-tank lift pump, you will also need a FASS suction tube kit (and usually the RK-02 relocation kit) so the DRP02 can draw fuel correctly. Cab-and-chassis trucks may need minor extra work.

    Optional upgrade
The RK-02 Relocation Kit (sold separately) moves the pump off the block and closer to the tank. That shortens suction length and turns the DRP into more of a pusher pump—quieter, cooler, and easier on the motor over the long haul.
