The FASS STK5500BO is the sump bowl only. It bolts to the bottom of a diesel tank without dropping the tank. The draw point moves to the low spot, which is the fix for a starve around a quarter tank. The suction tube is not in this box.
It is built for a polyethylene tank, the plastic tank on a Ford, a GM, or a Ram. It needs a flat spot at the low point. The sealing hardware is with the bowl. The pump is not included.
It fits a universal plastic diesel fuel tank.

Drain the tank before you drill. Seal the bowl. Pick a flat spot with nothing in the way inside the tank.

Is there any reason this can’t be used on a poly tank?

The FASS STK5500BO (along with the complete STK-5500 / SK5501 series) is designed primarily for factory and aftermarket polyethylene (poly/plastic) diesel fuel tanks. Virtually all OEM fuel tanks on modern Ford Powerstroke, GM Duramax, and Dodge/RAM Cummins trucks are high-density polyethylene (HDPE)
As long as an unobstructed, flat section at the lowest practical point of the tank is selected, the STK5500BO will seal reliably on a poly fuel tank.
