The Driven Diesel DD-73FS-FBD-RRK-V3 is a performance fuel bowl delete regulated return fuel system kit engineered for 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke engines. It completely eliminates the restrictive factory fuel filter bowl from the engine valley and converts the stock "dead-headed" fuel architecture into a continuous-flow, regulated return loop. Driven Diesel equips the kit with a premium Fuelab bypass fuel pressure regulator, a custom machined billet bowl delete manifold block, 3/8" CNC-bent rigid stainless steel hard lines for high-heat zones, abrasion-resistant braided stainless Teflon hoses, T-304 mounting brackets, and a custom liquid-filled fuel pressure gauge.
Persistent valley fuel leaks from aging bowl seals, fuel starvation and injector cackle on the notorious #8 cylinder, aerated fuel damaging injector plungers, and cramped engine valley clearance are what this kit solves. By feeding fuel into the front cylinder head ports and returning it continuously out of the rear ports through the Fuelab bypass regulator, trapped air and heat purge back to the tank instead of being forced through the fuel injectors. Because this kit deletes the factory fuel filter housing, an aftermarket pre- and post-pump filtration setup (such as a FASS, AirDog, or Driven Diesel Post-Pump Filter Kit) is required. It is the complete fuel bowl delete regulated return plumbing kit only; post-pump fuel filtration and external fuel pumps are sold separately.
It fits 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke Super Duty trucks and Excursions equipped with stock or aftermarket T4/drop-in turbochargers and single or inline twin (Terminator) HPOP systems; it does not fit E-Series vans or vertically stacked dual HPOP setups.
Fitment
- 1999–2003 Ford F-250 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke
- 1999–2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke
- 1999–2003 Ford F-450 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke
- 1999–2003 Ford F-550 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke
- 2000–2003 Ford Excursion 7.3L Powerstroke
- Does NOT fit Ford E-Series Vans
- Compatible with stock and T4 aftermarket turbochargers
- Compatible with single HPOP and Terminator twin inline HPOP setups
- Not compatible with vertically stacked dual HPOP configurations
- Requires external primary/secondary fuel filtration system
- Complete fuel bowl delete regulated return kit only
Ensure external fuel filtration is plumbed before starting installation to prevent unfiltered fuel from reaching the new manifold and injectors. Drain and remove the stock fuel filter bowl, cleaning the exposed valley thoroughly of residual oil, dirt, and fuel. Pre-assemble all stainless lines loosely onto the billet manifold block and head ports to verify hand-alignment and clearance around the HPOP lines and wiring harness before fully torquing fittings to final spec. Prime the fuel system thoroughly and adjust the Fuelab regulator set screw to 60–65 PSI while checking the liquid-filled gauge for steady pressure and zero valley leaks.
