PPE 168030150 Duramax Silicone Bushing Engine Mount Kit — 50 SHD Street/Performance Firmness
The PPE 168030150 kit is a complete high-performance engine mount upgrade for 2001–2010 GM 6.6L Duramax trucks (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM). It replaces worn factory rubber mounts with a redesigned steel-bracket assembly and premium silicone bushings in 50 SHD (Green) Street/Performance firmness. A companion kit covers 2011–2016 LML applications.
Stock rubber mounts crack, sag, and lose damping as they age. Heat, oil, mileage, and extra horsepower speed that up. The result is extra engine movement, more vibration and noise in the cab, sloppy throttle response, and less stable alignment under load. This kit is built to lock the engine down more consistently while still remaining usable on the street.
Street/Performance 50 Hardness (Green)
The 50 SHD bushings sit in the Street/Performance range: firmer and more controlled than tired OEM rubber, without the harshness of a full race mount. They cut engine rock and driveline movement during acceleration, towing, and hard shifts, while keeping everyday ride quality acceptable for mixed street and work use.
PPE also offers other durometers if you later want to retune the truck:
- 40A Blue — smoother street isolation
- 50 SHD Green — this Street/Performance kit
- 60A Yellow — firmer street/performance
- 70A Red — race/competition
The silicone inserts are replaceable, so you can change hardness later without buying new brackets.
Why silicone
Silicone is chosen over factory rubber and typical polyurethane because it:
- Withstands engine-bay heat without the same softening and cracking
- Isolates vibration better than most poly bushings
- Resists tear and compression set for long service life
- Is intended to last the life of the vehicle under normal use
A high-strength steel core runs through each bushing, and the steel-to-elastomer contact area is increased to spread load and reduce stress on the material.
Features
- Premium 50 SHD Street/Performance silicone bushings (Green)
- Heavy-duty steel support brackets
- Integrated steel core for a solid structural link
- Corrosion-resistant Class 10.9 hardware included
- Direct-fit replacement that maintains engine alignment
- Reduced engine movement, vibration, and noise (NVH)
- Better stability under throttle, towing, and load
- Interchangeable bushings for future firmness changes
- Compatible with OEM heat shields on many applications
Fitment
2001–2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD with 6.6L Duramax:
- 2001–2004 LB7
- 2004–2005 LLY
- 2006–2007 LBZ
- 2007–2010 LMM
Confirm year, model, and engine before ordering. 2011–2016 LML trucks use PPE 168032150 (same 50 SHD concept, different mount design).
What’s in the kit
Complete pair of engine mounts, 50 SHD silicone bushings, steel brackets, and all hardware needed for installation.
Typical install is a bolt-on swap. Allow time to support the engine safely and torque fasteners to spec. PPE provides a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty. California Proposition 65 warning applies.
This 50 SHD Street/Performance kit is the common choice for Duramax owners who want tighter engine control, less cab shake, and longer-lasting mounts without going to a full race-stiff setup.
