PPE 228052120 Heavy-Duty Cast Aluminum 68RFE Transmission Pan — Black
Heat is the enemy of the 68RFE. The factory stamped-steel pan can’t shed it fast enough when you’re towing, climbing, or sitting in traffic. The PPE 228052120 replaces that pan with a thick A356.0-T6 heat-treated cast-aluminum housing that holds 3 extra quarts of fluid, adds cooling fins and internal baffles, and helps keep transmission temps down so fluid stays thicker and parts last longer.
This is the black-finish version of PPE’s flat-bottom 68RFE pan. It bolts up using the OEM gasket, includes a high-capacity deep spin-on filter, and adds a magnetic stainless drain plug plus temp-sensor ports so you can service and monitor the trans properly.
Why upgrade
- More fluid, more thermal mass. Extra 3 quarts help absorb heat spikes instead of cooking the fluid.
- Aluminum + fins beat stamped steel. 3/4" external cooling fins and 1" internal baffles increase surface area, pull heat out of the fluid, and cut sloshing so pickup stays consistent.
