The Mishimoto MMBK-F2D-03HL is a heavy-duty reinforced silicone lower boot featuring DuraCore technology to prevent oil-soaked blowouts.
The Mishimoto MMBK-F2D-03HL is a direct-fit factory replacement hot-side lower charge air cooler (CAC) intercooler boot engineered specifically for 2003–2007 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks, 2003–2005 Ford Excursions, and 2004–2010 Ford E-Series vans equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine. Located down low on the passenger side connecting the metal hot-side intercooler pipe directly to the intercooler inlet, this heavy-duty coupler is built with Mishimoto’s proprietary DuraCore technology. By embedding a synthetic fluoroelastomer inner barrier layer directly into multi-ply aramid-reinforced silicone, it provides unmatched resistance to degradation from crankcase ventilation (CCV) oil mist pooling, extreme heat, and high boost pressure spikes.
Loud underhood popping sounds under acceleration, sudden and complete loss of boost pressure, sluggish throttle response, high exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), heavy black exhaust smoke, and oily soot spray across the lower passenger-side radiator support are what this upgrade cures. On the 6.0L Powerstroke, the lower hot-side connection operates in an aggressive environment where hot compressed air meets pooled engine oil blow-by, causing standard rubber boots to soften, swell, and blow completely off the metal retention beads under heavy towing load. The Mishimoto MMBK-F2D-03HL delivers a rigid, slip-resistant seal capable of holding peak factory or tuned boost safely. It is a complete installation kit containing the lower hot-side silicone boot and two heavy-duty constant-tension T-bolt clamps; metal intercooler pipes are sold separately.
It fits all 2003–2007 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks, 2003–2005 Ford Excursions, and 2004–2010 Ford E-250, E-350, and E-450 Econoline vans equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke turbo diesel engine (hot-side lower intercooler inlet position).

Park the truck on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect both negative battery cables. Allow the engine compartment to cool completely before servicing intercooler connections. Access the lower passenger-side intercooler inlet from beneath the front bumper or by removing the passenger-side inner fender splash shield. Loosen the spring-loaded T-bolt clamps on both ends of the existing lower hot-side boot using an 11mm (or 7/16-inch) deep socket. Work the old rubber boot off the intercooler inlet neck and the lower metal CAC pipe, then remove the boot and old clamps from the vehicle. Clean the aluminum intercooler inlet neck and the metal pipe retention beads thoroughly with brake cleaner and a clean rag to remove all traces of pooled oil and road grit (any residual oil slick will cause the new boot to slip under boost). Slide the new constant-tension T-bolt clamps loosely onto the Mishimoto MMBK-F2D-03HL boot. Lightly spray the inside of the boot with isopropyl alcohol or hairspray to aid installation, then slide the boot onto the intercooler inlet neck until fully seated. Insert the lower end of the metal hot-side intercooler pipe into the opposite end of the boot, ensuring the coupler bridges the gap evenly. Position the T-bolt clamps directly behind the raised retaining beads on each pipe (never clamp directly on top of the bead, which cuts the silicone). Tighten both T-bolt clamps until the tension springs compress evenly to factory specification (typically 9 to 12 ft-lbs / 106 to 142 in-lbs). Reinstall the fender liner if removed, reconnect both negative battery cables, and perform a test drive under full boost to verify a secure, leak-free seal.
