The Mishimoto MMBK-F2D-03HU is a heavy-duty 45-degree silicone upper boot featuring DuraCore technology designed to permanently eliminate boost leaks.

The Mishimoto MMBK-F2D-03HU is a direct-fit factory replacement hot-side upper charge air cooler (CAC) elbow boot engineered specifically for 2003–2007 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks, 2003–2005 Ford Excursions, and 2004–2010 Ford E-Series vans equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine. Connecting the upper hot-side metal intercooler pipe to the factory intake Y-pipe or turbo setup, this precision-molded 45-degree elbow is manufactured with Mishimoto’s proprietary DuraCore technology, embedding a synthetic fluoroelastomer inner barrier layer directly into multi-ply aramid-reinforced silicone. This advanced layering completely prevents oil degradation, rubber softening, and ballooning caused by continuous crankcase ventilation (CCV) oil mist and extreme compressed-air temperatures.

Loud underhood popping noises under heavy acceleration, sudden boost pressure loss, sluggish throttle response, high exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), heavy black smoke, and oily soot spray across the passenger-side battery box and inner fender are what this upgrade cures. On the 6.0L Powerstroke, the factory upper hot-side rubber boot degrades rapidly when exposed to high heat and oil blow-by, leading to split seams and blown-off connections under tuned or high-load towing boost pressures. The Mishimoto MMBK-F2D-03HU provides a rigid, high-strength seal that holds steady under extreme boost without slipping. It is a complete installation kit containing the 45-degree silicone upper boot and two heavy-duty spring-loaded constant-tension T-bolt clamps; metal CAC intercooler tubes are sold separately.

It fits all 2003–2007 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks, 2003–2005 Ford Excursions, and 2004–2010 Ford E-250, E-350, and E-450 Econoline vans equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke turbo diesel engine (hot-side upper elbow position).

    • 2003–2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 2003–2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 2003–2007 Ford F-450 / F-550 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 2003–2005 Ford Excursion 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 2004–2010 Ford E-250 / E-350 / E-450 Econoline Van 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • DuraCore technology inner barrier provides superior resistance to oil, fuel, and heat degradation
    • Multi-ply aramid-reinforced silicone construction handles extreme boost pressures and high EGTs
    • Precision-molded 45-degree elbow engineered for a flawless factory-fit geometry
    • Includes high-strength, spring-loaded constant-tension T-bolt clamps for a slip-free grip
    • Direct replacement for OEM upper hot-side pipe and boot configurations (Replaces Ford 6C3Z-6C640-A)
    • Backed by Mishimoto’s Lifetime Warranty

Park the truck on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect both negative battery cables. Allow the engine to cool completely before working around the hot-side intercooler piping. Loosen the spring-loaded T-bolt clamps on both ends of the existing upper hot-side boot using an 11mm (or 7/16-inch) deep socket. Work the old rubber boot off the metal intercooler tube and intake adapter, removing the old boot and clamps from the engine bay. Clean the metal pipe ends and beads thoroughly with brake cleaner and a clean rag to remove all traces of oil residue and road grime (any oil slick remaining on the metal beads will cause the new boot to slip under boost). Slide the new constant-tension T-bolt clamps loosely onto the Mishimoto MMBK-F2D-03HU boot. Lightly spray the inside of the boot with isopropyl alcohol or hairspray to aid installation, then push the 45-degree elbow onto the metal pipes until fully seated. Position the T-bolt clamps directly behind the raised metal retaining beads on each pipe (never clamp directly on top of the bead, which cuts the silicone). Tighten both T-bolt clamps until the tension springs compress evenly to factory specification (typically 9 to 12 ft-lbs / 106 to 142 in-lbs). Reconnect both negative battery cables, start the engine, and road-test the vehicle under full boost to verify a secure, leak-free connection.
