The Mishimoto MMOC-F2D-94 is a direct-fit replacement engine oil cooler engineered specifically for 1994–2003 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty and OBS trucks, 2000–2003 Ford Excursions, and 1994.5–2003 Ford E-Series vans equipped with the 7.3L Powerstroke diesel engine. Engineered to replace failure-prone, corroded factory heat exchanger cores, this replacement oil cooler bundle mounts along the lower driver-side engine block between the factory front and rear cast-aluminum headers. Mishimoto builds this unit from high-grade stainless steel with precision-brazed internal fluid passages, delivering efficient heat transfer to drop high engine oil temperatures under heavy towing while providing superior resistance to corrosion, metal fatigue, and hydraulic pressure spikes compared to aged OEM cores.

Oil-in-coolant cross-contamination, thick black oil sludge floating in the radiator degas reservoir, emulsified cooling system buildup, elevated engine oil temperatures while hauling heavy payloads, and cracked internal tube passages caused by road salt and thermal stress are what this cooler cures. Because base engine oil pressure (40–70 PSI) significantly exceeds cooling system cap pressure (16 PSI), an internal tube rupture instantly contaminates the coolant circuit, coating radiator tubes and heater cores in oil sludge and leading to severe overheating. The Mishimoto MMOC-F2D-94 restores optimal fluid isolation and cooling capacity directly within the factory mounting envelope. It is a complete oil cooler replacement kit that includes the center tube bundle core along with fresh premium O-rings and direct-fit mounting gaskets; replacement cast headers (front and rear) and engine oil filters are sold separately.

It fits all 1994–1997 Ford OBS and 1999–2003 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks, 2000–2003 Ford Excursions, and 1994.5–2003 Ford E-250, E-350, and E-450 Econoline vans equipped with the 7.3L Powerstroke turbo diesel engine.

    Fitment

    • 1994–1997 Ford F-250 / F-350 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel (OBS)
    • 1999–2003 Ford F-250 / F-350 / F-450 / F-550 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 2000–2003 Ford Excursion 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 1994.5–2003 Ford E-250 / E-350 / E-450 Econoline Van 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • Direct-fit replacement for the factory 7.3L Powerstroke oil cooler core
    • High-grade stainless steel tube construction resists corrosion and high-pressure fatigue
    • Effectively lowers engine oil temperatures during heavy towing and high-load hauling
    • Eliminates oil-into-coolant fluid cross-contamination and cooling system sludging
    • Includes complete replacement installation hardware: fresh internal O-rings and block mounting gaskets
    • Replaces OEM Ford part numbers 1C3Z-6A642-AA, F4TZ-6A642-A, and Navistar 1824415C93
    • Backed by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty

Place a large drain container beneath the front driver side of the engine, open the radiator drain petcock to drain all engine coolant, spin off and discard the engine oil filter, and drain the engine oil from the crankcase. Unbolt the three rear oil filter header mounting bolts from the engine block, unbolt the front header-to-block mounting bolts, and lower the complete oil cooler assembly out from under the vehicle. Place the assembly onto a secure workbench and tap the factory front and rear cast aluminum headers off the old tube bundle using a soft mallet or block of wood (inspect the aluminum casting bores for severe corrosion pitting or cracks). Thoroughly clean the inner sealing bores of both cast headers using a Scotch-Brite pad and brake cleaner to eliminate old rubber residue, scale, and road grime. Lubricate the new silicone O-rings included in the Mishimoto kit with clean engine oil or petroleum jelly and roll them into place on both ends of the MMOC-F2D-94 tube bundle core. Using a bench vise, hydraulic press, or heavy-duty bar clamps, press the front and rear cast headers straight and square onto the new tube bundle until fully seated, verifying correct rotational alignment relative to the block mounting pads. Clean the block mounting pads until bare and oil-free, place the new composite block gaskets in position dry, align the assembled oil cooler against the engine block, and hand-thread all mounting bolts. Torque the front and rear header-to-block bolts in an alternating sequence to 18 ft-lbs (24 Nm). Install a new oil filter, refill the crankcase with 15W-40 diesel oil, thoroughly flush the cooling system if prior oil contamination occurred, refill with a fresh 50/50 diesel coolant mix, and run the engine to verify zero oil or coolant leaks.
