Ford's 7.3L engines utilize two distinct temperature sensors that look similar but serve different functions. To ensure you select the correct sensor:

• Identification: If touching the sensor wire to the chassis results in a full-scale gauge reading, you need the F1SZ-10884A sensor. If there is no response, the DOZZ-10884A sensor is required.
• Visual Difference: Sensors can be identified by the colored ring around the single electrical pin. A green ring indicates the F1SZ-10884A, while a red ring denotes the DOZZ-10884A.
