The PureFlow AirDog Raptor 4G 150 GPH Fuel Lift Pump (Part # R4SPBF358 / RP-4G-150HP) is a premium, high-output electric fuel pump system engineered specifically for 2003–2007 Ford Super Duty trucks and Excursions equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine. Built on AirDog's fourth-generation (4G) platform, this high-pressure lift pump bypasses and replaces the restrictive, failure-prone factory frame-mounted Horizontal Fuel Conditioning Module (HFCM) pump motor. Utilizing a durable gerotor design with an intermediate shaft assembly, it keeps electrical motor components isolated from fuel while delivering an adjustable, uninterrupted 150 gallons per hour directly to the secondary engine filter bowl.

    Quick Specs & Kit Inclusions

    • Flow Rating: 150 Gallons Per Hour (GPH)
    • Pressure Range: Adjustable high-pressure gerotor pump (preset for 6.0L Powerstroke at ~55–65 PSI; built-in adjustable bypass regulator)
    • Pump Architecture: Low-amperage 4-bearing motor assembly with an intermediate drive shaft that physically isolates fuel from the electrical motor windings
    • Power Capability: Engineered to support stock trucks up to 600+ horsepower applications (mild to moderate injector upgrades)
    • Inlet/Outlet Porting: Threaded O-ring boss ports with push-lock quick-connect fittings and integrated dual-port gauge access on the gerotor cap
    • Emissions Status: 50-state legal (aftermarket fuel delivery system; does not modify powertrain calibrations or emissions controls)
    • Interchange Part Numbers: AirDog R4SPBF358, RP-4G-150HP, 0813094013586
    • What's in the Box: (1) Raptor 4G 150 GPH Fuel Pump, (1) Frame Mounting Bracket & Hardware Pack, (1) Heavy-Duty Relay Wiring Harness with Weatherpack Connectors, (1) Cleanable Pre-Pump Inlet Screen Fitting, High-Pressure Fuel Lines, and Necessary Quick-Connect Fittings

Problem Solved: Curing Pressure Starvation, Cavitation & HFCM Pump Failures

The factory frame-mounted HFCM lift pump on the 6.0L Powerstroke is notoriously failure-prone due to electrical brush wear, road grime, and limited flow capability. Under heavy towing loads, aggressive acceleration, or with aftermarket performance tuning and larger injectors, the stock lift pump cannot keep up with fuel demand. Fuel pressure frequently plunges below the critical 45 PSI mark. On HEUI fuel systems, this drop-off causes fuel aeration and cavitation, eliminating the liquid hydraulic barrier that cushions the reciprocating intensifier piston. The result is scored plungers, damaged injector nozzles, spool valve stiction, and expensive injector replacement. The Raptor 4G 150 GPH pump permanently solves fuel starvation by feeding consistent, high-volume fuel at stable, user-adjustable pressure to keep injectors lubricated and properly cushioned.

    • 2003–2007 Ford F-550 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 2003–2005 Ford Excursion 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • Application Notes: Designed for vehicles retaining the engine-mounted secondary fuel bowl or running a regulated return system. Does not fit Ford Econoline E-Series vans.

Safety & Depressurization: Park on level ground, engage the parking brake, and disconnect both negative battery cables. Relieve residual fuel system pressure by slowly loosening the secondary engine-valley fuel filter cap (24mm socket). Mounting Location Setup: Locate a rigid mounting area along the inside driver-side chassis frame rail near the factory fuel lines. Assemble the AirDog heavy-duty sandwich bracket around the frame rail and secure the Raptor 4G pump body using the supplied mounting bolts. Torque bracket hardware to 20–25 ft-lbs (27–34 Nm). Plumbing Configuration: Inlet Suction Line: Plumb the supplied fuel line from the fuel tank sending unit / suction tube to the cleanable pre-screen inlet fitting on the Raptor pump. Outlet Pressure Line: Connect the high-pressure fuel line from the Raptor pump outlet port directly to the factory feed line routing up to the engine-mounted secondary fuel filter bowl (bypassing the stock HFCM pump motor). Ensure all push-lock hose ends are fully seated over the barbs, retaining clamps/clips are secured, and hoses are routed clear of the front driveshaft and sharp chassis edges. Electrical Wiring Harness Installation: Mount the relay assembly securely in the engine compartment near the battery. Connect the heavy-gauge red fused wire directly to the battery positive (+) terminal and the black ground wire to the battery negative (-) terminal or chassis ground. Route the harness down the frame rail and plug the Weatherpack connector directly into the Raptor pump motor. Connect the key-on trigger wire to a 12V ignition-switched source (fuse tap or factory fuel pump trigger circuit) so the pump cycles with key activation. System Priming: Verify all hose connections are tight and the secondary fuel bowl cap is torqued to 19 ft-lbs (25 Nm). Reconnect both battery terminals. Turn the ignition key to the "RUN" position without cranking the starter; the Raptor pump will activate and purge trapped air into the return system. Cycle the key 3 to 4 times. Operating Pressure Calibration: Connect a mechanical test gauge to the secondary fuel bowl test port (or the pressure port on the pump cap). With the pump running, loosen the adjustment jam nut on the Raptor bypass valve and adjust the screw until running pressure stabilizes at 55–65 PSI. Lock down the jam nut and perform a final inspection of all fittings for zero fuel leaks before starting the truck.

This unit far surpasses the stock pump, it’s pretty quiet honestly , I went with this unit and installed my own filter / water separator, saved a little money doing it this way. it was very straight forward and the instructions for installing were easy to follow, except for the electrical part. The instructions on wiring this unit were terrible, I had to go search and find other videos online and hook up a relay and buy extra wiring to properly hook this unit up to my batteries.
