- Sealing Interface: Includes a premium fuel-resistant Viton fluorocarbon O-ring seal
- Emissions Status: 50-state legal (direct mechanical replacement)
- What's in the Box: (1) XDP Billet Brass Water Separator Drain Plug and (1) Pre-Installed Heavy-Duty Viton O-Ring
Problem Solved: Eliminating Stripped HFCM Plugs & Messy Fuel Drains
The factory plastic or soft-metal HFCM drain plug on 2003–2007 6.0L Powerstrokes utilizes a shallow 6mm internal Allen hex that notoriously rounds out, seizes from road grime, or strips during regular water-in-fuel drain intervals. Once stripped, draining accumulated water from the primary fuel filter becomes nearly impossible, leading to moisture carry-over that can destroy expensive HEUI injectors and cause rust in the fuel system. Removing a stripped factory plug often requires drilling, vise grips, or replacing the entire HFCM manifold plate. The XDP XD327 cures this issue permanently with a solid brass design featuring an oversized knurled thumb head that allows you to break the seal and drain water by hand, backed by an external hex for stubborn removals.
Fitment
- 2003–2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
- 2003–2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
- 2003–2007 Ford F-450 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel

Safety & Prep: Park the vehicle on level ground, engage the parking brake, and shut off the ignition. Place a drain pan directly beneath the HFCM mounted on the inside of the driver-side frame rail under the driver floorboard. Old Plug Removal: Clean away road dirt and debris from around the factory drain plug pocket using brake cleaner and a wire brush. Carefully remove the existing factory drain plug (using a 6mm Allen wrench or extraction tool if previously rounded). Allow all accumulated water and residual diesel fuel to drain completely into the catch pan. Port Inspection & Cleaning: Inspect the female M14 threads and O-ring sealing chamfer inside the HFCM manifold plate. Clean the port threads with a lint-free cloth and brake cleaner to remove any grit, road salt, or old seal remnants. O-Ring Lubrication: Verify the included Viton O-ring is fully seated on the XDP XD327 shoulder. Coat the O-ring and brass threads with a light film of clean diesel fuel or clean engine oil to prevent pinching during insertion. Thread Engagement: Thread the XDP XD327 into the HFCM drain port by hand to ensure proper thread alignment. (Never force the plug, as cross-threading the aluminum HFCM cover will damage the module housing). Torque Target: Tighten the plug hand-tight using the knurled outer thumb wheel, or use a hand wrench/socket on the integrated external hex to gently snug the plug until the Viton O-ring fully compresses into the housing seat (tighten to 35–45 in-lbs / 4–5 Nm maximum). Do not over-torque; the Viton O-ring provides complete sealing without extreme mechanical force. System Priming & Leak Verification: Turn the ignition key to the "RUN" position for 30 seconds without cranking the starter to allow the electric lift pump to prime the HFCM reservoir and pressurize the system. Repeat the key cycle 2 to 3 times. Inspect the drain plug face and perimeter to verify a 100% leak-free seal before driving.
