The DieselSite DS203 is a 203-degree thermostat for a 1996–2003 7.3 Powerstroke. It is the long-stem thermostat for the stock Ford water pump. Navistar built these engines to run at 203. Ford went to 195 in 1996, and the parts-counter replacement is now about 192.
The stem is the long one, so the bypass disk seats in the Ford pump. The DieselSite pump kits use the International short-stem thermostat. This one does not go in that pump. The factory part is Motorcraft F6TZ-8575-EA. The 189-degree unit is Mishimoto MMTS-F2D-96L. The 205-degree unit is MMTS-F2D-96H.
It fits 1996–2003 7.3 trucks with the stock water pump.

Replace the seal with it. Bleed the system until it opens. A truck that already runs hot on a grade wants the 189-degree thermostat.
