The electronic actuator is a common failure on the HE300VG turbo of a 2013–2018 Ram 6.7L Cummins. When it quits, the vanes stop responding, with low boost, a weak exhaust brake, derate and actuator codes. Replace it with the Holset 6382096HX, a genuine Holset remanufactured actuator, instead of buying a whole turbo.

- Calibration required: The actuator must be calibrated to the turbo at install with a scan tool that runs the VGT actuator pre-align and self-calibrate procedure, such as Cummins INSITE or Holset ETool. An incomplete calibration can set P003A.
- Before you install: Drain the cooling system first, and check that the turbo sector gear moves the vanes freely in both directions.
