I contacted Dieselsite that a customer reported weak studs and I was hesitant to buy. Within hours they had pulled some from their stock and tested them for quality and sent me pics of the torque results. None of them failed despite going more than double and triple the torque specs needed. I went ahead and purchased and installed them and had no issues. Love 'em. Here's the results they sent me... --- RE: VCSTUD73 Hi Charles, Here are the results of my test: 3 samples tested for each test Hex Drive Torque Sample 1- 20 ft-lbs. Sample 2- 19.4 ft-lbs. Sample 3- 20.4 Ft-lbs. [See image of 19.4 ft lbs] Torque of Nut on Stud Sample 1- 37 ft-lbs. Sample 2- 36.1 ft-lbs. Sample 3- 36.7 ft-lbs. [See image of 36.1 ft lbs] Recommended torque from Ford is 8 ft-lbs. for the Valve cover bolts and nuts. NOTE: these numbers I am sharing is where I stopped my test. I did not have any failure at these values. Kind regards, Director of product development

I tried these out on my recent build. One stud snapped during Install (torque wrench set at 96 in-lbs) I didn't think too much about it figured maybe 1 bad one out of the bunch. About a month after putting the motor in I had a oil leak from the valve cover, turns out 2 more had broken after Install. Put the 23 year old factory hardware back on and no problems since.
