The aFe 46-60079 is a BladeRunner GT wastegate actuator for a 1999.5–2003 7.3 Powerstroke. It replaces the factory can on a stock GTP38 and lets you set when the gate opens.
It is CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum, black anodized, with a heavier spring and a larger diaphragm than the stock can. That keeps the valve seated longer so the gate does not creep in the midrange. It is preset to 40 psi and can be adjusted from about 20 to 60 psi with the jam nut on the arm. It bolts to the factory mounts. No turbo modification. The valve in the housing stays.
A stock GTP38 is not a 60 psi turbo. aFe’s range is for a built turbo. On a stock charger, leave it near the factory boost and use a gauge. It fits late-1999.5 through 2003 F-250 and F-350 trucks. Early 1999 trucks do not have this wastegate. It is not for sale in California.
If the truck still will not build boost, check the up-pipes and the vacuum lines before you blame the can.
