The ATS 68-RFE Performance Transmission Upgrade Package transforms the stock 68-RFE transmission for enhanced performance and durability. Designed for 6.7 Cummins engines, this comprehensive upgrade addresses the transmission’s inherent limitations, ensuring reliability and capability at higher power levels.
Key Upgrades:
Pump Assembly: Redesigned torque converter regulator valve prevents over-pressure and extends component life. Modified main pressure regulator circuit enhances pressure range for improved response to increased engine torque.
Clutch Drum Assembly and Clutch Packs: Increased clutch surface areas—21% for Under Drive, 17% for Over Drive, 34% for 2C and 4C packs—using advanced friction materials for superior clutch control and durability. The upgraded roller clutch design replaces the factory low one-way sprag for enhanced strength and longevity.
Valve Body: Extensive modifications improve hydraulic flow and pressure integrity, with high-grade accumulator plate and seals for reliable operation under heavy power situations. The ATS valve body can also be installed separately to boost stock transmissions.
Shafts: Reinforced forward and intermediate hub/shafts prevent breakage. Optional 300M billet input shaft for additional strength.
Case and Pan: Optional heavy-duty pan acts as a girdle, strengthening the transmission case and adding 5 quarts of ATF to reduce operating temperatures.
