The BD 1030755 is a BrakeLoc for a 1994–2003 7.3 Powerstroke with a manual transmission. It uses the factory exhaust backpressure valve as a retarder. It is not an exhaust brake.

It taps the EBP valve wire and commands that valve closed when you lift. The valve is hydraulic, so there is a 2 to 3 second delay before it holds. A stuck or binding EBP valve will not work with it. BD rates this as the cheap tow aid, and they point to a real exhaust brake for a load. About 30 minutes to install. The warranty is 12 months or 24,000 miles. It is not for sale on a licensed California vehicle.

It fits 1994–2003 7.3 trucks with a manual. An automatic uses a different BrakeLoc, because that one also has to hold the converter.
