The Dieselsite PSPK73 is a heavy-duty, billet aluminum power steering pump pulley upgrade kit engineered specifically for 1996–2003 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty and OBS trucks, 2000–2003 Ford Excursions, and 1996–2003 Ford E-Series vans equipped with the 7.3L Powerstroke diesel engine. Precision CNC-machined in the USA from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this 8-rib serpentine pulley replaces the failure-prone factory stamped steel or composite plastic power steering pulleys. Designed to withstand extreme belt tension, high RPM shifts, and violent engine harmonics, the Dieselsite billet pulley features a reinforced hub and outer lip geometry that will not crack, flex, or chip during heavy-duty operation or service removal.

Shattered composite pulley flanges caused by standard pulley puller tools, sheared pulley hubs resulting in thrown serpentine belts, belt chirping caused by stamped-steel pulley flex under load, and bent pulley lips that chew through serpentine belt edges are what this billet pulley kit eliminates. The factory 7.3L power steering pump pulley is notorious for cracking or disintegrating whenever a standard puller tool is used during pump replacement or front accessory repairs. Furthermore, thin factory steel pulleys often develop runout or wobble over time, causing belt misalignment that wears alternator and water pump bearings prematurely. The Dieselsite PSPK73 provides a durable, permanent solution with precision-machined belt grooves for optimal serpentine belt traction and reduced rib slip. It is a complete replacement pulley kit engineered for press-fit installation on standard 7.3L power steering pump shafts; replacement power steering pumps, 8-rib serpentine belts, and automatic belt tensioners (Alliant AP63421) are sold separately.

It fits all 1996–1997 Ford OBS and 1999–2003 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks, 2000–2003 Ford Excursions, and 1996–2003 Ford E-250, E-350, and E-450 Econoline vans equipped with the 7.3L Powerstroke turbo diesel engine (utilizing a press-on pump shaft).

    Fitment

    • 1996–1997 Ford F-250 / F-350 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel (OBS)
    • 1999–2003 Ford F-250 / F-350 / F-450 / F-550 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 2000–2003 Ford Excursion 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • 1996–2003 Ford E-250 / E-350 / E-450 Econoline Van 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel
    • Precision CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for maximum durability
    • Eliminates brittle plastic and stamped steel pulley failures common on factory 7.3L pumps
    • Reinforced hub and rim design withstands repeated installation and puller tool removal without cracking
    • Precision 8-rib serpentine profile ensures true belt tracking and eliminates belt slip
    • Reduces rotational runout to extend the lifespan of front accessory drive bearings
    • Direct press-fit replacement for factory Ford power steering pump pulleys
    • Proudly manufactured in the USA by Dieselsite

Park the truck on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect both negative battery cables. Release tension on the 8-rib serpentine drive belt using a 1/2-inch drive breaker bar on the belt tensioner and unroute the belt from the power steering pulley. Attach a dedicated automotive power steering pulley removal tool (clamping the clamshell collar securely around the factory pulley hub lip) and slowly draw the old factory pulley off the pump shaft (never use a standard jaw-style puller on the outer rim, as this will shatter or warp the pulley and bend the pump shaft). Thoroughly clean the power steering pump snout and shaft using a Scotch-Brite pad and brake cleaner to remove rust scale, dirt, and burrs. Apply a light film of clean engine oil or anti-seize lubricant to the pump shaft to facilitate a smooth press-fit. Position the Dieselsite PSPK73 billet pulley onto the pump shaft with the hub collar facing forward. Thread the forcing screw of a dedicated power steering pulley installation tool completely into the internal threads of the pump shaft until fully engaged. Turn the tool's bearing nut clockwise while holding the central arbor stationary, pressing the billet pulley evenly onto the shaft until the front face of the pulley hub sits completely flush with the end of the power steering pump shaft (do not hammer the pulley onto the shaft, as impact force will rupture the internal pump seals and damage shaft bearings). Sight down the serpentine accessory drive belt plane using a straightedge to verify that the 8 ribs of the Dieselsite pulley align squarely with the crankshaft and water pump pulleys. Reinstall the serpentine belt, verify proper belt tension on the tensioner gauge, reconnect both negative battery cables, and start the engine to confirm quiet, wobble-free operation.
