This is not a standard rebuild — it’s a performance-enhanced Injector Driver Module that increases voltage to the injectors from ~110V to 140V and boosts current output by approximately 20%.

    The DTC Rebuild & Testing Process

    Every DTC IDM starts with a complete rebuild where 15–20 components are replaced. The High Voltage / High Current units then receive two additional precision modifications.

    After modification, each module goes through a 20-point test bench procedure, followed by a demanding 30-minute continuous run at 3000 RPM and 3.0 ms injector pulse width — conditions far harsher than real-world use. Only units that pass this rigorous testing are approved for sale.

    DTC has been performing the high-voltage modification since 2004 and invented the high-current modification in 2008. Thousands of these units have been installed with no reported negative effects on injectors or the IDM itself.

    Important Note

    Upgraded High Voltage / High Current IDMs may set a P1298 soft code. This is completely normal and will not cause any drivability issues or damage.

    Don't know that I had an IDM issue before this. But I did notice after installing, my idle after start up was smoother and engine slightly quieter. I think I'm going to like it. Nicely sealed unit and built like a tank.

    If you need a IDM this is worth the small extra cost over a stock reman IDM. My 7.3 only has a straight thru 3.5” muffler and an air intake, not even a tuner yet… I instantly noticed a difference on start up! Throttle response is much more snappy and it’s easier to keep up with traffic now! Plus the purchase from a company that pioneered the HV IDM and actually tests them is a bonus! Don’t waste money on a stock reman.. the 7.3 should have came like this stock.
