7.3 Powerstroke PCM Rebuild
The PCM is the brain of the 7.3 Powerstroke. It commands fuel delivery, injection timing, idle control, glow-plug strategy, and (on automatics) transmission shift logic. After 20–30 years of heat, vibration, moisture, and performance chips, these modules fail—often after someone pulls a chip with the key on or the engine running.
This 7.3 Powerstroke PCM Rebuild DTC is a rebuilt unit from Diesel Technology of Chattanooga, ready to install. Known failure points are addressed during rebuild, chip terminals are cleaned and re-soldered, and the module is programmed before it ships. It is intended as a stock replacement for 1994–2003 7.3L Power Stroke applications in F-Series Super Duty, Excursion, and related Ford/Navistar diesel platforms.
Unlike later Ford diesels, the 7.3 PCM does not store the VIN from the factory, and odometer mileage lives in the instrument cluster—not the PCM. That means a correctly matched replacement can go in and run without dealer programming. There is also no PCM relearn period on these trucks.

- F-250 / F-350 / F-450 / F-550 Super Duty, Excursion, and other 7.3-equipped Ford applications
- Manual conversion is a separate service
If you are unsure which PCM you have, give us a call with your 17-digit VIN.
What’s included
- Fully rebuilt 7.3 Powerstroke PCM
- Programmed and ready to install
- Chip terminals cleaned and re-soldered
- 3-year unlimited-mileage warranty when a matching core is returned
Why owners rebuild the PCM

- Random DTCs or modules that will not talk
- Failed after a performance chip was removed with key-on / engine running
- Corroded or damaged rear chip terminals
- Age-related internal failure
Installation notes
- Key out of the ignition before unplugging or installing the PCM
- Battery disconnect is not required on the 7.3
- Excursion units marked “PATS DISABLED” may require the PATS module (black box with green plug above the accelerator pedal) to be unplugged so the theft light does not flash
Warranty 3 years, unlimited mileage
Customer responsibility to ship in core (we don't provide a label)
We do not test your core upon receiving.
Due to current core shortages, we are requiring cores for ALL PCMs to be sent in first for rebuild.
