The DieselSite WW38R is the Wicked Wheel 2 compressor wheel for a Garrett GTP38R on a 1999.5–2003 7.3 Powerstroke. It is not the wheel for a stock turbo. A stock GTP38 or TP38 uses the WW38.
The GTP38R is the PowerMax ball-bearing turbo, not the turbo the truck came with. This billet wheel replaces the cast compressor on that turbo, and on a D66-style housing that uses the same wheel. DieselSite balances it, so the turbo does not need a rebalance after the swap. The thread is standard right-hand. Turn it left to loosen, snug it until it seats, and it tightens itself. Mark the compressor cover before it comes off so it goes back on the same clock.
It is the surge and spool upgrade for a 38R. The turbine wheel and the housings stay.
If the tag on the turbo says GTP38, this wheel will not fit. That truck needs the stock-turbo Wicked Wheel.

what are the differences / characteristics of the 11 blade vs the 6 x 6 so people can read and make an informed choice for which one to use for their preferred intended use??

11 Blade will spool faster but flow less up top.
6 Blade spools slower but does not choke out up top like an 11 blade.

What a awesome up grade. It's smooth, more power, you can hear more whistle, also thinking it saving me on mpg. It's a great buy.
