The Strictly Diesel DD-73L-HPX-SD is a high-pressure oil crossover for a 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke. It ties the driver and passenger oil rails together with a pre-bent stainless line.

The factory system feeds each head from its own hose. A spike on one side does not equalize. This line uses the rail plugs over cylinders 5 and 6, just ahead of the turbo, so both rails share pressure. Strictly Diesel ships the ferrules already crimped. Two O-ring boss fittings are in the kit. Torque those fittings to 15–18 lb-ft. The O-ring does the sealing. More than that can strip the head.

It fits 1999–2003 pickups and Excursions with a stock or drop-in turbo. It will not clear a T4 housing. A 1994–1997 OBS does not have these rail plugs.

    Fitment

    • 1999–2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke
    • F-Series and Excursion
    • Stainless crossover and two head fittings
    • Torque 15–18 lb-ft
    • Stock or drop-in turbo only
    • Does not fit a T4 turbo or 1994–1997
    • Does not fit KC Turbos Gen3 upgrade Turbos

It does not add oil volume. A weak HPOP or a bad IPR will still show up. This only balances the two rails.

This was an easy peasy install. I won't know how well it works until I get this thing back up and running. I feel it will just help the engine run better. Instructions from Strictly Diesel state to torque the ports to 15-18 ft lbs. Done. O-rings are at the base of the two ports. Then finger tight the crossover tube to the ports. Once that is done, turn the nuts 3/4 to 1 1/4 more to tighten down. I marked the nuts on the crossover tube and turned to tighten and just barely got to 3/4 of a turn. Not trying to break stuff. You can see in the two pics it's easy to feed thru the manifold and turbo. Thank you FFD.
