The FFD229 is the wrench for the injector pressure regulator on a 7.3 Powerstroke. It takes the IPR out of the back of the HPOP and puts it back in. The valve is not included.
A standard deep 1-1/8 socket often will not seat. The valve is long, and the turbo is in the way. This wrench is short enough to turn it in the valley without pulling the pump. It fits a Motorcraft or Alliant IPR. A cheap aftermarket valve can be a different hex, and this tool may not grab it.
It fits 1994–2003 7.3 trucks. The tool only.

The seal kit is Ford 4C3Z-9C977-AA if the valve is staying. If the screen is packed with metal, the valve is Motorcraft PU7Z-9C968-B.

If you've ever replace an IPR SENSOR? Than whatever makes the job easier and simpler, this tool definitely helps. Less hassle compared to working with a deep socket and 1/2inch drive wrench.

Tool only fits true Motorcraft or Alliant IPRs, not the China knockoffs, or some aftermarket part store IPRs. A full length deep 1 1/8 thin wall socket and ratchet is better, as you can only move IPR one tooth at a time with this wrench, but could be a good backup for side of the road in a pinch, just remember it doesn't always fit.

I bought this tool because I couldn't get any of my deep-well 1 1/8 deep sockets to properly seat. I feel this is made and built to the quality of what it's job is. If you look at this tool, it's not pretty. But it is going to work. I actually haven't had the chance to put the IPR on the HPOP yet but I have so much to do that this is one of the last things I'm doing with the engine torn apart.
