RCD 6.4L Powerstroke Regulated Return Fuel Bowl Delete (1740490003 & 1740490008)

Upgrade your 2008–2010 Ford Super Duty 6.4L Powerstroke with the RCD Regulated Return Fuel Bowl Delete. This kit replaces the restrictive factory fuel filter bowl and converts the system to a proper regulated-return design for better flow, cooler fuel, and more consistent pressure.

The stock 6.4L fuel bowl creates restrictions, can allow aerated or hot fuel, and uses a dead-head layout that does not circulate fuel through the heads as effectively. Deleting the bowl and adding regulated return improves delivery to the high-pressure pump and injectors, routes unused fuel through a bypass regulator back to the tank, and supports higher-output builds with larger injectors, dual pumps, or performance tunes.

    Two Configurations

Both versions include a liquid-filled pressure gauge (for initial setup only), an extra feed port for a second CP3 or K16 pump, an ORB plug, and an ORB-to-1/8" NPT adapter for an electric sender.

    • RCD 1740490003 — Factory-lines / drop-in version (Fuel Bowl Delete). For trucks keeping the factory fuel lines and factory fuel cooler. Uses upgraded high-flow banjo bolts. Best for stock or mildly modified trucks that want the bowl delete and regulated-return benefits without changing the entire low-pressure plumbing.
    • RCD 1740490008 — Aftermarket lift-pump version (Fuel Bowl + Factory Feed & Return Line Delete). For trucks running an AirDog, FASS, or similar aftermarket lift pump. Deletes the factory feed and return lines and uses Parker push-lock hose fittings compatible with those systems. The more complete option when you already have (or are adding) a high-volume aftermarket pump.

Both work with the factory fuel cooler.

You will need RCD-1740490007 CP3 plumbing kit if you are running a dual high-pressure pump setup.

    Key Benefits

    • Increased fuel flow and reduced restriction versus the stock bowl
    • More even fuel distribution and pressure at all injectors
    • Better fuel cooling as fuel circulates through the heads
    • Improved air and vapor purge instead of sending it through the injectors
    • Extra valley space for easier service of the HPOP, IPR, and related components
    • Extra feed port ready for dual-pump applications
    • Supports better throttle response, injector life, and reliability on stock and modified 6.4L engines

Use the included liquid-filled gauge only long enough to set regulated pressure, then remove it and install the provided ORB plug (or the 1/8" NPT adapter for a permanent electric sender). Additional filtration is required because the factory bowl filter is eliminated.

    Fitment: 2008–2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke Super Duty (F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550)
