The RedHead 2764BS is a remanufactured steering box for a 1999–2004 7.3 and 6.0 Powerstroke with a 36-spline sector. It is the 4-bolt cover. The box only. A core charge applies.

RedHead builds it stronger than the factory gear and it bolts in with no modifications. A 2001–2004 Super Duty and a 2001–2005 Excursion came with the 36-spline sector. A 1999 or 2000 truck has to be counted. The pump and the Pitman arm are not included. The warranty is 1 year, unlimited miles. The new ported box is PSC SG752R.

It fits 1999–2004 Super Duty and Excursion trucks with the 36-spline sector.

Worth the extra money

Installed the redhead gearbox and gained way more control on the road. The truck doesn�t jump when it hits bumps and the steering is more responsive and with less play in the steering wheel.

Seriously, if you are experiencing center free play in your steering you need to install a redhead steering box. I put a remanufactured box on my 03 f250 from the local parts supply chain and it did not help. I ordered and installed a redhead box and it made an amazing difference. If you want to fix your steering problem get a redhead and do it right the first time.

I am glad that i went with a Redhead gearbox. it has really tightened up my steering. It also came packaged very well with new o-ring seals for the lines as well as bleeding instructions. I contacted Redhead with a technical question and they were very helpful and quick to respond. As always, a good experience buying from Full Force Diesel.
