South Bend DDCMAXZ Competition Dual Disc Clutch – LBZ Duramax (750 HP / 1,300 TQ)
Unlock serious holding power for your high-performance LBZ build with the South Bend DDCMAXZ Competition Dual Disc Clutch. Designed specifically for extreme applications, this Stage 5 SFI-approved dual disc clutch is rated for up to 750 horsepower and 1,300 ft-lbs of torque, making it an excellent choice for sled pullers, drag racers, and serious competition trucks running a 6-speed manual transmission.
Key Features & Benefits
- Feramic Friction Material — Aggressive, high-grip feramic (sintered iron) linings deliver strong, positive engagement and maximum power transfer with minimal slip under extreme loads.
- Cryogenically Treated Steel Components — All critical parts (including the pressure plate and center plate) are cryogenically treated for superior strength, durability, and resistance to heat and fatigue.
- Dual Disc Design — Doubles the friction surface area compared to a single disc, providing significantly higher torque capacity while maintaining a relatively compact package.
- Solid Flywheel with Replaceable Insert — Includes a solid-mass flywheel featuring a bronze/feramic insert that can be easily replaced during future rebuilds (no need to replace the entire flywheel).
- Rigid Hub Discs — Solid-hub design provides direct, immediate power transfer — ideal for competition use where every fraction of a second and every horsepower counts.
- SFI Approved — Certified for competition-level performance and safety.
Fitment
- 2005.5–2006 Chevrolet/GMC 6.6L Duramax LBZ (models built October 2005 and later)
- For vehicles equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission (ZF6)
- Note: This clutch is for manual transmission applications only (common in ZF6-swapped LBZ trucks). It is not compatible with the factory Allison automatic.
Important Notes
- Competition Use Only — This clutch has a very aggressive, “grabby” engagement feel and is not recommended for daily driving or street use.
- Hydraulics Not Included — The concentric slave cylinder (throw-out bearing) is not included. We strongly recommend purchasing the South Bend HYDX-MAX hydraulic assembly for proper function and longevity.
Whether you're building a dedicated sled puller or a high-horsepower drag truck, the South Bend DDCMAXZ gives your LBZ Duramax the clutch it needs to put serious power to the ground reliably.
