The OBS Ford 7.3 Powerstroke 1994-1997 did not come with a factory mount intercooler system. Instead Ford decided that the turbo would be sufficient with the larger 1.15 turbo turbine housing. Although it probably helped out some it did not cure EGT problems for a modified truck.
Installing the Atlas Diesel OBS Intercooler Kit will get you lower EGT's, better fuel economy and more power. Cooling the intake charge air will improve oxygen availability. So the more oxygen with the cooler air equals more burned fuel and less black smoke.
This kit is a bolt on design. Comes with brackets for the intercooler, power steering cooler and AC Condenser.

Kit was shipped nicely, no damage to product. Install wasn�t hard, but time consuming and found steps that could have been helpful. But self explanatory, cut out a decent amount and had to finess the cooler bracket from hitting the grill. Other than that the kits great, dropped EGTS a couple hundred degrees.

Seems to be well built. Install was somewhat time consuming but could do it a lot faster now. Definitely keeps EGTs down and cools down faster after stopping. Was hesitant on giving 5 stars as the box arrived beat up and loose bolts and nuts rolling around. Had to make my own mounts for my after market trans cooler and mount behind the bumper, but everything is working as it should. Should have done this sooner.

I've been wanting to add an intercooler to my '97 OBS for a very long time. I found this kit and honestly wasn't convinced at first but reading other positive reviews, I decided to pull the trigger. Install wasn't too bad but wow does it make a difference. Before I'd easily see 1200-1400 degree EGT's hauling heavy loads. But now after this intercooler, I don't see anything over 1100 degree EGTs MAX. I'm glad I picked this kit up and if you're on the fence as I was, its definitely worth it to save your truck!

Shipping was super fast, well-packaged! Truck now pulls harder, and My EGTs are much lower at higher RPMs. Smoke clears up quicker under hard acceleration, too. Super exciting to see the charge pipes came already polished. Fitment was perfect, required very little trimming to the core support in non-structural areas. I can still access the power steering fluid filler. The included Bracket for the transmission cooler was super convenient, it worked well with both the factory OBS trans cooler, and the upgraded 6.0 trans cooler I installed. Excellent product to maximize the Horsepower gains from FFD stage 1.5 Injectors and upgraded HPOP. simple and straight-forward install with easy to follow instructions. Highly recommend this kit.
