A factory replacement built tougher than factory.
The ATS Aurora 3000 VFR (Variable Factory Replacement) is a direct drop-in turbocharger for 2004.5–2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke trucks. It installs like a stock replacement but uses upgraded materials and internal components to deliver better airflow, greater heat resistance and longer service life. No tuning is required.
Built to handle heat.
The turbine and bearing housings are made from High Silicon Molybdenum (HSM), a material designed to withstand the extreme heat of hard-working diesel engines. A high-temperature ceramic coating adds further heat protection and durability.
Upgraded internals for reliability.
ATS uses a billet stainless steel unison ring, an optimized vane design for increased airflow, a new solenoid actuator, and an upgraded heavy-duty bearing pack. Together, these address common wear points in the factory variable-geometry turbo.
Key Features
- Direct drop-in replacement for the factory turbo
- High Silicon Molybdenum (HSM) turbine and bearing housings for heat resistance
- High-temperature ceramic coating
- Billet stainless steel unison ring
- Optimized vane design for increased airflow
- New solenoid actuator
- Upgraded heavy-duty bearing pack
- Powder-coated compressor housing
- No tuning required
- No core charge
- Fits 2004.5–2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke
What Problem Does This Solve?
- Sticking vanes and boost problems. The 6.0L's variable-geometry turbo is known for vane and unison ring wear, which can cause poor boost response, low power and drivability issues. The Aurora 3000's billet stainless unison ring and optimized vane design are built to resist that wear.
- Heat-related turbo failure. Towing and hard use generate intense exhaust heat that wears on factory turbo housings. HSM housings and ceramic coating are designed to stand up to those temperatures.
- A replacement that only matches stock. A basic replacement turbo restores factory performance but carries the same weak points. The Aurora 3000 installs just as easily while adding improved materials, airflow and durability.
Is This Turbo Right for You?
The Aurora 3000 VFR is a great choice for owners replacing a worn or failed factory turbo who want better durability and response without tuning or modifications. It's well suited to towing, daily driving and stock or lightly modified trucks.
Fitment
This turbo fits 2004.5–2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke engines. 2003 and early 2004 trucks built before 9/22/2003 use a different turbo (ATS part #202-302-3272).
