The Dieselsite DSIBKBI is the replacement boot set for a Banks or Hypermax intercooler on a 7.3 Powerstroke. It is not a stock-intercooler kit. The Banks cooler uses a longer 3-inch boot, and a factory hose will not seal it.
The set is two intercooler-to-pipe boots, 3 inches inside diameter and 4.25 inches long, plus four stainless T-bolt spring clamps. The boots are longer than stock so a second clamp can be added if the truck is making high boost. Dieselsite lines them with an oil-resistant fluoropolymer. Factory silicone breaks down where crankcase oil mist hits the charge-air tubes. These are tested past 90 psi. Torque the clamps to 60 in-lb. Do not overtighten them.
It fits 1994–2003 7.3 trucks that already have a Banks or Hypermax intercooler. It does not include the valley or spider boots. Those are a different kit, and the early trucks use a 2-inch plenum boot.
Fitment
- 1994–2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke with a Banks or Hypermax intercooler
- Two boots, 3-inch ID by 4.25 inches
- Four T-bolt spring clamps
- Intercooler connections only
- Does not fit a stock intercooler
Use it when the Banks boots are oil-soaked or blowing off. A stock boot kit will not take their place.
