Restore reliable injector performance and get your 7.3 Powerstroke back on the road with the DTC Stock Replacement IDM. This is a premium stock-voltage Injector Driver Module built and rigorously tested by DTC, a specialist in 7.3 Powerstroke electronics since 2004.

The IDM is one of the most common failure points on 1994–2003 7.3L Powerstroke engines. When it fails, you’ll often see symptoms like:

    • Cranks but no start
    • Rough idle, misfires, or failed contribution tests
    • Injector low-voltage codes (P0261–P0280 range)
    • One bank of injectors completely dead
    • Stalling or sudden loss of power

The DTC Stock IDM delivers clean, factory-correct voltage (approximately 110–113V under load) and is a direct plug-and-play replacement for all 7.3 Powerstroke models — from early EDU-100A units through the later IDM-120 versions. All years use the same voltage output, so one part number covers your truck.

Why Choose the DTC Stock Replacement IDM?

Every unit is individually tested and inspected before it ships. DTC runs each IDM continuously for 30 minutes at 3000 RPM with a 3.0 ms injector pulse width — a far more severe test than any truck will ever see in real-world driving. This ensures it performs reliably under the harshest conditions.

    Key Advantages:

    • True stock voltage output (safe for your injectors and wiring)
    • Built and tested by 7.3 specialists with over 20 years of experience
    • Direct-fit, plug-and-play installation (typically 10–15 minutes)
    • Excellent customer results fixing no-start conditions, dead banks, and contribution codes
    • Backed by a 3-year warranty

    Fitment

    • Fits: All 7.3 Powerstroke engines (1994.5–2003)
    • Works with EDU-100A, IDM-100, IDM-110, and IDM-120 modules
    • No programming or modifications required

    Important Notes

    • Core charge required (standard exchange process)
    • Electronics are non-returnable for refund
    • We do not test customer cores upon arrival

    Specifications

    • Voltage: Stock (~110–113V measured at injector firing with oscilloscope)
    • Testing: 30-minute continuous run at 3000 RPM / 3.0 ms pulse width
    • Warranty: 3 Years
    • Installation: Plug-and-play (no special tools needed)

This is the go-to choice for 7.3 owners who want a dependable, stock-style IDM without the risk of cheap no-name units or the higher stress of modified high-voltage versions. Thousands of 7.3 Powerstroke owners have restored smooth operation and eliminated frustrating injector codes with DTC IDMs.

3 Questions asked on 7.3 Powerstroke Replacement IDM DTC STOCKIDM

Q John y • 02/18/2025, 0:05:09 AM When I order a IDM do you guys program it so it is just plug and play for me?
A 02/24/2025, 4:09:21 PM It's ready to install and run.
Q Tanner • 03/04/2025, 11:32:18 PM Does this one come at 120 volts?
A 03/05/2025, 3:32:28 PM The voltage on all models of 7.3 IDM is the same. EDU-100A (1994.5-1996) , IDM-100 (1997), IDM-110(E-99) and IDM-120 (L-99 to 2003) are all the same voltage. Depending on where you measure it (different places in the IDM give slightly different results, or youcan measure it at the injectors), when you measure it (IDM just on, or firing the injectors, and thenwhen in the injector firing you measure it, and how you measure it (voltmeter or oscilloscope) you canget anywhere from 92 to 114 volts. We measure the voltage going to the injector, and the start of the injector firing, with an oscilloscope, and any good IDM will be between 111 and 113 volts there. I round down in my conversations, so Ialways refer to a stock IDM as being 110 volts. A modded IDM will be between 138 and 141 volts, sowe call that 140 volts. I think some Ford literature may refer to 115 volts, which could be a source of confusion, but the only way to "get" 115 volts is to round up.
Q Hunter • 03/05/2025, 0:18:21 AM How do you know what the voltage is.

    Finally fixed the miss

I put in this idm after testing everything else for a miss like a dog trying to pass a pinecone when at operating temp. Put in reman injectors from full force(which were desperately needed), checked the uvch and wiring, no codes , but had phantom misfires from the cylinder contribution test covering both banks. Last time the idm was replaced was in 2004 when I was driving along and the idm just gave up. Took a bit of a gamble and it paid off.

Had to replace both the ECM and IDM. Sent my ECM back to a company that had worked it before and they said it was unrepairable (motherboard bad) then found out that the IDM was bad because of a bad valve cover gasket. I got the IDM in just a couple of days and my 7.3 has never run better. If the ECM ever has a problem again I know where to go. Thanks for great serice and a great product.
