Genuine Ford quality where it matters most.

The Ford 4C3Z-9F838-B Injection Control Pressure (ICP) Sensor is a genuine Ford OE replacement for 2004.5–2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke trucks. It mounts on the passenger-side valve cover and interchanges with Ford 4C3Z-9F838-A and 4C3Z-9F838-AB. Because the engine computer relies on this sensor's signal to control injection, accuracy matters, and a genuine Ford sensor gives you factory-calibrated readings right out of the box.

    What the ICP sensor does.

The 6.0L uses high-pressure engine oil to fire its injectors. The ICP sensor measures that oil pressure and reports it to the engine computer, which uses the reading to control injection. The computer then commands the IPR valve to raise or lower pressure as needed. If the sensor sends a bad reading, the whole system works from the wrong information.

    Key Features

    • Genuine Ford OEM part
    • Factory fit, function and calibration
    • Mounts on the passenger-side valve cover
    • Interchanges with Ford 4C3Z-9F838-A and 4C3Z-9F838-AB

    Fitment

    • 2004.5–2007 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty 6.0L Powerstroke
    • 2004.5–2005 Ford Excursion 6.0L Powerstroke
    • 2004–2010 Ford E-350 and E-450 6.0L Powerstroke

Early 2003–2004 6.0L engines use a different ICP sensor (Ford 3C3Z-9F838-EA) mounted under the turbo. If your sensor isn't on the passenger-side valve cover, this isn't the right part.

    What Problem Does This Solve?

    • Rough idle, misfires and stalling. A failing ICP sensor can send incorrect pressure readings, causing the engine to idle rough, misfire or stall.
    • Surging and poor drivability. Bad ICP data can cause the engine computer to over- or under-command pressure, leading to surging and inconsistent power.
    • Check engine light and ICP codes. A faulty sensor can trigger ICP-related codes and illuminate the check engine light.
    • Oil in the connector. ICP sensors can leak oil internally into the electrical connector and harness. If you find oil in the ICP connector, replace the sensor and inspect the pigtail as well.

    Why Choose Genuine Ford?

Low-cost aftermarket ICP sensors are known for inconsistent quality, and some owners report codes or early failures after installing them. Because the engine computer depends on an accurate ICP signal, a genuine Ford sensor is the safest way to get the repair right the first time.
