The Ford F81Z-9B249-BB is a genuine OEM fuel pressure relief rebuild kit for the factory fuel filter bowl on 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke engines. It refreshes the internal fuel pressure regulator assembly mounted on the driver side of the fuel bowl. The kit includes the brass poppet valve piston, regulator seat, poppet guide, regulator spring, and the necessary replacement O-rings.
Low fuel pressure, erratic fuel delivery, or a sticking poppet valve caused by wear inside the factory guide sleeve is what this kit is for. Over time, the internal brass poppet and aluminum guide gall from constant cycling, allowing fuel to bleed back to the return line prematurely and starving the injectors. It is the internal regulator rebuild kit only; the outer cast closure cap and housing bolts are not included.
It fits 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke trucks, Excursions, and E-Series vans.
