The KC Turbos DIY Turbo Upgrade Kit lets experienced builders upgrade the stock turbo on 2003–2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke trucks with KC’s performance compressor-side components. The kit includes an upgraded compressor cover, backing plate and GTX-style billet compressor wheel that bolt right to any stock 6.0L turbo. It’s an economical way to squeeze more power from your turbo without buying or building a complete upgraded turbo.

KC’s GTX-style billet wheel spools fast and makes great top-end power. The kit comes fully balanced and supports up to 175cc injectors.

Want the 2003 whistle?

2004–2007 turbos use a quieter 13-blade turbine wheel. Add one of KC’s upgraded 10-blade turbine wheels, available as an option on this kit, to bring back the classic 2003 6.0L whistle. 2003 turbos already come with a 10-blade turbine.

This is not a complete turbo. You’ll reuse your existing turbo’s center section and turbine housing.

Choose Your Options

• Compressor wheel: 61mm, 63.5mm or 64.7mm billet wheel. KC does not recommend the 64.7mm wheel on 2005–2007 turbos.
• Turbine wheel (optional): KC 10-blade turbine wheel for 2003 turbos, 66mm for 2004 turbos or 64mm for 2005–2007 turbos, or no turbine wheel.
• Rebuild kit (optional): add a 360 upgrade rebuild kit.

What Problem Does This Solve?

• More power without a new turbo. If your stock turbo is healthy or you’re already rebuilding it, this kit adds airflow and performance for far less than a complete upgraded turbo.
• Slow spool. The billet wheel and upgraded cover help the turbo spool faster for better response.
• Supporting mild injector upgrades. The kit supports injectors up to 175cc, making it a good match for moderately modified trucks.

Important Notes Before Ordering

• 2005–2007 turbos: The 2005–2007 turbine wheel is slightly smaller than the 2003–2004 wheel. It spools faster but makes less power, and it isn’t large enough to support KC’s bigger 64.7mm compressor wheel. KC does not recommend the 64.7mm compressor wheel on 2005–2007 turbos.
• Rebuild at the same time: KC recommends adding one of its rebuild kits if you’re rebuilding your turbo during the upgrade. A 360 upgrade rebuild kit is available as an option on this kit.
• Turbo year: Truck manufacture date is not the same as turbo year. Check your turbo before choosing a turbine wheel.

Important: DIY Installation

This kit is for builders who already know how to assemble a turbo. It’s not meant to be just a cheaper option. It does not come with instructions, and KC will not walk you through the build. If you’re not confident building your own turbo, this kit is not for you. Consider a complete KC Jetfire turbo instead, or have a turbo shop do the work. There is no warranty on DIY products.
