1999-2003 7.3L Powerstroke Fuel Bowl Drain Valve Motorcraft F81Z-9A153-AA

The Motorcraft F81Z-9A153-AA is a genuine OEM fuel filter bowl drain valve engineered for 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke engines. It mounts directly to the back of the factory engine valley fuel filter bowl to provide a manual drain path for separated water and fuel sediment. Motorcraft constructs this replacement valve with a durable polymer lever assembly and includes brand-new, factory-installed fuel-grade O-ring seals and mounting screws.

Persistent fuel leaks pooling in the engine valley, raw diesel fumes under the hood, and dripping from the metal drain tube along the passenger side of the block are what this valve fixes. Decades of engine heat cycling, vibration, and ultra-low sulfur diesel exposure cause the internal rubber O-rings to harden, shrink, and crack, resulting in steady fuel weeping or air intrusion into the fuel filter housing. It is the replacement drain valve assembly with O-rings and mounting hardware only; the aluminum fuel bowl housing and drain extension tube are sold separately.

It fits 1999–2003 7.3 Powerstroke Super Duty trucks, Excursions, and E-Series vans equipped with the factory fuel filter bowl.

Relieve fuel pressure and completely drain the fuel bowl into a catch container before removing the old valve to avoid dumping diesel fuel into the engine valley. Thoroughly clean the mounting pad and O-ring mating bores on the rear of the fuel bowl with a lint-free cloth to eliminate dirt, varnish, or old seal fragments. Lightly lubricate the new O-rings with clean engine oil or diesel fuel before installation, and tighten the mounting screws evenly by hand to prevent cocking the valve body or pinching the O-rings.

I had my fuel bowl apart anyway. Pretty much fully rebuilt it with all new o-ring etc. I hadn't checked the fuel bowl drain valve. I'm glad I did. The two small green o-rings that were on the back of the fuel drain valve had been worn away over time from opening and closing the valve. No leaks, but I don't like to take future chances. Arrived in all FOMOCO packaging. Small price to pay. Thank you FFD.

I was starting to have some fuel leakage in the valley and I couldn't find it right away. It only leaked when the fuel was cold. Once the fuel warmed up it quit leaking. So one morning while it was cold I just turned on the key to run the primer pump an sure enough it was leaking. I ordered one of these complete kits an it was at my door in 2 days. Put it on an the fuel leakage went by the wayside again. I definitely recommend this product cause it's cheaper then any of the local aftermarket part stores. An it's a brand name product. Definitely recommend it
