The DieselSite CFIK97 is a bypass coolant filtration kit for 1994-1997 Ford 7.3L OBS Powerstroke trucks. It sends a small share of coolant through a spin-on filter on every pass to pull out solid particles.

Powerstroke blocks are sand cast, and leftover sand plus flaking SCA scale wear down water pump seals, hoses and radiators. The filter removes those solids while leaving the coolant additive chemistry in place.

Vehicle Fitment & Technical Installation Notes

• Fitment: 1994-1997 Ford 7.3L OBS Powerstroke. Some early trucks have the older IDI style cooling system with the cap on a steel radiator; on those, the filter return must be moved to the heater hose with a 5/8 x 3/8 x 5/8 inch tee.
• Installation Tip: Change the filter every three months for the first nine months to catch the built-up debris. Reduced flow into the expansion tank is a sign the filter is plugged.
