The Superchips Flashcal 1545 is a calibration tool for 1999–2019 Ford Powerstroke trucks. It is not a power tuner. It plugs into the OBD-II port and corrects the PCM after a tire or gear change, then reads and clears codes.
A taller tire makes the speedometer read slow and throws off the shift points. Flashcal writes the measured tire height and the new axle ratio so the speedometer, odometer, and transmission see the right speed. On a 1999–2010 truck the tire range is about 28 to 40 inches. A 2011–2016 6.7 is limited to about 31 to 34 inches. A 2017–2019 6.7 can take about 26 to 42 inches and can adjust the TPMS threshold. Speed-limiter adjustment is available on 2003–2010 and 2017–2019 trucks. It also shows battery voltage and can log data. Features change by year.
It does not add horsepower, and it does not delete emissions equipment. Flash the correction, confirm the speedometer, and unplug it.
Fitment
- 1999–2003 7.3L Powerstroke: tire size and axle ratio
- 2003–2007 6.0L Powerstroke: tire size, axle ratio, and speed limiter
- 2008–2010 6.4L Powerstroke: tire size, axle ratio, and speed limiter
- 2011–2016 6.7L Powerstroke: tire size, axle ratio, and TPMS
- 2017–2019 6.7L Powerstroke: tire size, axle ratio, speed limiter, and TPMS
- F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550
- OBD-II calibration tool, not a performance tuner
Measure the actual tire height, do not use the sidewall number. A 35-inch tire is often closer to 34.
